iPhone X in india : Best buy for a lac ?
Should you buy the iPhone X ?
Think of what you can buy for a thousand dollars ( or a lac in India!). You may buy a great looking bike for yourself, or a nano car, or a travel package to the U.S.), or, but the iPhone X !
I don't say iPhone X is a bad phone; it has got its own USPs, a bezel-less design ( which can be found on almost every other flagship now, or even the mid-rangers!), a great camera ( Though the pixel 2 at half its price has a better one!), the fastest chip inside (This is really great, jokes apart! ), no headphone jack, and yes, the greatest and most secure face ID (OMG! how slow it is!).
This iPhone is good at everything, but not the best! The design is a fresh dose in the iPhone line, but not something that is perfect. The notch on the top looks ugly, and it doesn't matter for how long you have been using it, the notch will continue to bother you. The display is 5.8" long, with an aspect ration of 19.5:9 at a resolution of 1125 x 2436 .
The Samsung made Amoled screen is sharp enough for everything outside VR. The display supports HDR 10 and 3D touch. There is support for wireless charging this time, and the phone is IP67 certified, meaning you can use it under water.Consuming media on the iPhone is a great experience, thanks to the stereo speaker setup, but the notch makes the whole experience a little weird.
Now the thing which makes the iPhone the best at its bet! Thanks to A11 bionic chip, iPhone X is the fastest phone you can get right now, way faster than other phones in the market. Apple says it has put a dedicated NPU ( Neural Processing Unit ) inside the chip, which helps in AR. The GPU is also designed by Apple, and it makes the iPhone X a pleasure to use. Everything from day to day usage to playing heavy games, this one piece of hunk is a beast when it comes to performance.
And now focusing on the cameras. The iPhone X rocks dual camera setup, similar to its predecessor, with some minor changes. The telephoto sensor is Optically stabilized this time, with a wider f/2.4 aperture. And the results are great. From daylight photos to night shots, you can trust this guy when it comes to cameras. There is also support for portrait mode for the front facing camera, though the implementation is a hit or a miss. Overall, the camera performance is satisfying, thought the Pixel 2 performs slightly better!
And the miscellaneous things. Apple has ditched the touch ID this time, in the favour of face ID. Apple says it is super secure as there is a dedicated hardware for the same, but the whole process of unlocking the phone takes a while. I wish Apple had retained the touch ID as a backup. Also, it is disappointing that though the phone supports fast charging, still the box comes with a normal 5V 2A power adapter ! Come on man, at least you could have bundled a fast charger when you are charging a freaking lacs for a phone. The 2760 mah battery may take you through a day easily, but don't wish for anything more.
Basically, there are a lot of phones out there which can do the same as the iPhone X, or more at half the price, or even less. You can buy 2 Pixel 2s or the Pixel 2 XLs for about the same price, or the Note 8, or 2 lg V30+ or hell, three OnePlus 5Ts! All of these have great build, great cameras, fastest snapdragon chip inside, and carry a much cheaper price tag! So, my recommendation, skip the best ever iPhone X !
