Will Xiaomi MI6 make it to India?
Xiaomi Mi6 India launch. Is Xiaomi neglecting Indian customers!?
It seems Xiaomi isn't in the favour of providing its best to Indian customers. It has been a month since 'the never settling' OnePlus launched its flagship killer OnePlus 5. Still, there is no word from company officials as how and when 'the Mi6' will launch in India.
The vision of Xiaomi towards Indian market seems to be somewhat unclear. Last year, they launched the inferior-most version of Mi5, the one with 3gb ram and and underclocked snapdragon 820. Even the other flagships (the Mi5s, Mi5s plus etc.) were china exclusive. This year also there are no signs of Mi6 coming to the Indian subcontinent. The result is as expected, one-Xiaomi is losing its charm in India,two-Oneplus hiking prices of its flagships ,as no other competent is out there(except the huawei honor 8 pro,but that too costs 30k),three-We Indians are out of choices.
It's high time Xiaomi came out something big in India (sadly they did came out with big, the Mi Max 2 ). We Indians want the best ,not some scrap that arrives years later. Xiaomi didn't launch best of Mi5 last year, giving the way to OnePlus to lead sub 30k segment. Still there's time. Xiaomi should learn from its past mistakes, after all it's never too late.
As for the specs, Xiaomi Mi6 runs on the latest and greatest snapdragon 835 and comes with 6 gigs of ram.It supports a 5.15 inch 1080p display covered with 2.5d glass. The back is still glass which sadly is fingerprint-magnet.At 168g its heavier than its predecessor, though the overall build is superior.
What makes it even superior is the dual camera setup comprising of two 12mp sensors, one with 27mm f/1.8 wide angle lens and the other with 52mm f/2.6 telephoto lens,to give out 2x optical zoom and the famous portrait mode. The handset runs on nougat 7.1.1 and comes with a 3350mah battery with the support of quick charge 3.0.
As expected, all sensors are present, and the handset supports bluetooth 5.0 and is Volte out of the box. There is type c port for charging, and the most sad part, omission of the 3.5 mm headphone jack.Still, the package is quite fascinating at about Rs 25k for the 6/64 gb , about 28k for 6/128 gb and about 29k for the special ceramic variant with 6/128 gb configuration.
